• The Republic of Croatia should, in accordance with its needs, establish its own BIM guidelines and standards in order to ensure consistency and quality in all projects. By developing and implementing standards and defining guidelines, interoperability is introduced, simplifies communication and reduces errors during the execution of projects. Adapting these standards to the specific needs and goals of the Republic of Croatia is essential for the successful implementation of BIM. The guidelines should provide answers as to how BIM will be integrated into existing workflows, technologies and processes and define standards and rules. BIM standards should specify naming conventions, data exchange protocols and modeling rules. The implementation plan should provide a detailed timeline introduction of BIM for different types and phases of the project. A phased approach to implementation helps the gradual and systematic introduction of BIM to all necessary levels. The state of BIM implementation in the EU countries directly depends on the strategic goals of each country, the readiness to digital transition, the preparedness of the state, public and private sectors, the legislative framework, but also the preparedness of the university community.
